PHIL BRYANT RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT OF MISSISSIPPI’S
SMALL BUSINESSES (Tupelo, Miss.) – Phil Bryant, the Republican nominee for Lt. Governor of Mississippi has received the endorsement of Mississippi small businesses. At an event today in Tupelo at Magnolia Wholesale Florist, owner Peggy Bishop and Ron Aldridge, Mississippi State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), announced the group’s support for Phil Bryant’s campaign. “NFIB is proud to announce our endorsement for Phil Bryant, who has demonstrated unwavering support for small businesses in Mississippi,” Aldridge said. “Ninety-six percent of NFIB/Mississippi member respondents registered their support for Phil Bryant’s candidacy in a recent survey. Clearly our members recognize who their friends are. As an organization, NFIB will work hard to elect Phil Bryant, who is a strong supporter of small business and the principle of free enterprise.” Phil Bryant stated, “Small business understands what is at stake in this election and I appreciate their endorsement of my campaign. Small businesses such as Peggy Bishop’s Magnolia Wholesale Florist know that making sure we have a good business climate to create jobs and prosperity for all Mississippians is a top priority. That means keeping tort reform laws in place to stop lawsuit abuse. It also means opposing the creation of a Department of Labor in Mississippi because that would mean more burdensome regulations and red tape on small businesses.” “As a small business owner and a person that genuinely cares about Mississippi and its future, I believe that it is imperative that we actively support candidates like Phil Bryant who stand up for small business owners and their employees,” said Peggy Bishop, owner of Magnolia Wholesale Florist in Tupelo. NFIB is Mississippi’s leading small business advocacy association and its endorsement is an important indicator of grassroots support within the small business community.
