PHIL BRYANT ENDORSED BY DESOTO COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS

(Southaven, Miss.)—On Saturday, July 28, Phil Bryant, Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, received the endorsement of several DeSoto County elected officials at a news conference that was held at Phil Bryant’s campaign office in Southaven.

At the event, Phil Bryant received endorsements from:

• Milton Kuykendall, DeSoto County Schools Superintendent
• Mayor Sam Rikard, Olive Branch
• Mayor Chip Johnson, Hernando
• Mayor Nat Baker, Horn Lake (not present at the event but has given endorsement to Phi Bryant)
• Dale Kelly Thompson, DeSoto County Circuit Court Clerk (not present at the event but has given endorsement to Phi Bryant)

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement from these well-respected elected officials in DeSoto County,” Bryant said. “As we enter the last week of the Primary Election campaign, having the support of so many DeSoto County elected officials is a big boost to my campaign for Lt. Governor. As Lt. Governor, I will continue working closely with DeSoto County to be a strong partner.” 

Phil Bryant, currently serving as State Auditor of Mississippi, is a Republican candidate for Lt. Governor. He started his career as a Deputy Sheriff and was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 59 in Rankin County in 1992, re-elected in 1995, and appointed as State Auditor by former Governor Kirk Fordice. Bryant was re-elected as State Auditor in 1999 and 2003. The Lt. Governor primary election will be held on August 7, 2007, and the general election will be held on November 6, 2007.
