FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--April 24, 2007 HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF MISSISSIPPI (Jackson, Miss.)—Today, the Home Builders Association of Mississippi announced their official endorsement of Phil Bryant for Lt. Governor. At a news conference this afternoon, the Home Builders Association of Mississippi President, Gary Jenkins of Grenada, made the endorsement official stating, “This is an important day for the Home Builders Association of Mississippi and our commitment to “Building a Better Mississippi”. On behalf of the approximately 4,000 member firms, I am proud to announce the endorsement of Phil Bryant for Lt. Governor.” The Home Builders Association of Mississippi represents more than 4,000 member firms across Mississippi. Phil Bryant accepted the endorsement of saying “It’s an honor to receive the endorsement of the Home Builders Association of Mississippi. As Mississippi continues to grow over the next four years, it will be important for our state to have strong leadership from our Lt. Governor in economic development to help our communities grow and prosper. That’s why I appreciate being endorsed by such a well-respected organization that is truly dedicated to building a better Mississippi.” Two weeks ago, Phil Bryant also received the official endorsement from the Mississippi Association of REALTORS, the state’s largest business trade association representing more than 6,500 residential and commercial real estate professionals active in all phases of brokerage, development, property management and appraisal. Phil Bryant, currently serving as State Auditor of Mississippi, is a Republican candidate for Lt. Governor. He started his career as a Deputy Sheriff and was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 59 in Rankin County in 1992, re-elected in 1995, and appointed as State Auditor by former Governor Kirk Fordice. Bryant was re-elected as State Auditor in 1999 and 2003. The Lt. Governor primary election will be held on August 7, 2007, and the general election will be held on November 6, 2007.
